Pain Neutralization Technique

At Integrated Pain Solutions, our experienced chiropractors work with their hands to improve biomechanical strain on your musculoskeletal system to improve function and decrease pain.

Our skeletal system forms a kinetic chain that bears the weight of our body. Our muscular system moves the skeleton so we can move and do physical work. Problems arise when we have weak links in our kinetic chain (We’ve all heard a chain is only as strong as it’s the weakest link). When we have weak links in our kinetic chain the brain recruits our muscles to work harder to compensate for the weak links. These compensations are what start to cause the wear and tear to our joints and supporting soft tissues that lead to pain. Only by finding the weak links and correcting them with specific adjustments can we stop the wear and tear that these compensation patterns are causing.

After the adjustments restore proper function to our kinetic chain, our chiropractors utilize Pain Neutralization Technique (PNT) to the painful muscles that have been working so hard. Pain Neutralization Technique (PNT) is a nonpharmacological, non-invasive technique for pain neutralization developed by Dr. Steven Kaufman. The technique involves gentle tissue manipulation to “turn off” the nerve-based reflexes that perpetuate trigger points and muscle pain.
